Nakfa (ERN) is the currency in Eritrea

The nafka is the currency used in Eritrea. It was introduced in 1997 replacing the Ethiopian birr. The nafka comes in 6 coins and 6 banknotes from 1 - 100 nafka.

Eritrea is located in east Africa with coastal line to the Red Sea. The country was formed in 1890 as an italian colony but was controlled by Ethiopia until 1991 when Eritrea declared independancy. Eritrea is very poor country and the economy is largely dependant on foreign aid.
